Capital Factory Joins Air Force Ventures in Supporting SkillPower
San Diego, Calif. - August 1, 2020 - SkillPower, innovative provider of digital health apps, today announced it has joined the Capital Factory Accelerator in Austin, Texas. The goal is to accelerate SkillPower’s growth and innovative work with the Department of Defense.
Capital Factory is known as “The center of gravity for entrepreneurs in Texas” and is the largest accelerator in the state. Capital Factory regularly receives visits from such high profile individuals as Tim Cook from Apple, former President Barack Obama and Satya Nadella from Microsoft.
According to Pitchbook, Capital Factory has been the most active investor in Texas since 2013. Capital Factory only recently began accepting start-ups outside of Texas with SkillPower being one of the first startups outside of the state to join the Accelerator.

SkillPower’s signature digital health platform AirFit is an innovative behavior change program targeting nutrition, exercise, mental health and prediabetes coaching. A recent DoD study found that roughly 20% of military personnel are considered obese and that more than 15% experience a mental health disorder.

Capital Factory’s pivot to a virtual workforce model during COVID-19 was rapid and innovative - in line with the culture of the company.
